Announcement
To my friends in the 2nd Ward:
Thank you for my first term in office. It has been a pleasure working with you and representing your concerns on this Council. Each month I look forward to reporting to you at our monthly ward meetings and attendance shows that we are finding success in increasing the transparency of government.
In my first term we have seen accomplishments that have made the Second Ward a great place to live and raise families. We were successful in drawing much needed attention to the City’s Northwest Diversion Tunnel project, and completing financing for resurfacing 49th Street and Northwest Boulevard. We were successful in moving the Pedcor Development and placing greater restrictions on two of our other multi-family complexes. We have begun filling our Industrial Park and we are bringing jobs to Davenport. Most importantly, in the 2nd Ward we have remained vigilant in our responsibility and accountability to the taxpayers.
The next Council will be faced with finding resolution to issues which have risen during this one. The next Council will see a new Police Chief swear in, watch the completion of our City Administrator’s contract, fund a Diversion Tunnel, implement Consolidated Dispatch and decrease crime. This must be done while we remain fiscally responsible.
I look forward to taking on these tasks in a second term and this fall I will be asking your permission to be your 2nd Ward Alderman for a second term.
