Update
Eric R. Schallert from public works has taken on the issue of removing the pond west of Fairmount and North of Locust. Mr. Schallert plans on inserting drain tile to drain it now and then work on suggesting how to grade the property to avoid a pool from building again. Mr. Schallert can be contacted at (563) 327-5162.
Saturday morning, neighbors between Michigan and Fairmount woke up to find some of their homes and garages had been sprayed with graffiti. The middle of the street on Nevada Ave. was also tagged and some lawn items where stolen. I have spoken with the Police Chief and he has stated that he has opened an investigation and believes he will have a report soon. My interest is keeping up on where buildings are being tagged. Always know that you can report graffiti here or give me a ring at (563) 388-6338.
My hope is to stay on top of graffiti to try to stop it before it spreads. I know that as the weather improves crime tends to go up. I am hoping to jump on these issues before they become bigger problems.
The Parks Director has assured the Emeis Little League and Colt League that problems with the restrooms near the baseball diamonds will be fixed before the first game of the year. If anyone notices other problems please send me a note.

The Skybridge had a problem again this week with gang graffiti. What is the city doing to prevent this from happening over and over. What is the cost of each graffiti clean up?
Thanks Shawn!
Thanks Shawn!
It's not going to work this time around! We have a terrible trash problem throughout the city and no way to fix it without hiring additional people. What gives!
