Public Hearing
This notice was distributed today by Gene Hellige, Inteim City Engineer.
“The City of Davenport, Iowa will hold a public hearing for the Davenport West Side Diversion Tunnel Project at the Council Chambers in Davenport City Hall, 226 West 4th Street from 7:00pm until 9:00pm on the 28th Day of November, 2006. Project information is available at the office of the City Engineering Division of Public Works Center, 1200 East 46th Street, Davenport, Iowa. The public hearing will present and discuss the overall project history, alternatives considered, environmental issues and their mitigation, and the recommended project.”
“Proposed project includes construction of improvements to the sanitary sewer system including 60” sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and street replacement along Howell Street from U.S. Highway 61 (River Drive) to 6th Street to Wilkes Avenue and 7th Street and along Wilkes Avenue to 9th Street. 60” sanitary sewers installed by deep tunneling methods along Wilkes Avenue from 9th Street to the open field north of Garfield Street and behind Williams Intermediate School. 72” sanitary sewer behind Williams Intermediate School to Duck Creek and then West along Duck Creek to Silver Creek.”
