Squad

I was asked at our last meeting for the estimated cost of a new squad for the Police Department.

Last I knew, only the traffic units had built-in radars and the scanner/printer between the seats.
 
I believe that alot of these items are recycled from cars taken out of service. Get the facts straight and stop with the Bush type scare tactics
 
I will ask how often we recycle parts.
 
Anytime the vehicle that they are in is taken out of service due to mileage or age, which is approx 2-3 years old.
 
so why cant they use the lights from the car that is being replaced? or for that mater as much of the equipment that can be used from the previous car.
If the Crown Vic is being replaced with a Crown Vic whats the problem?
 
They do, but this a Bush tactic, making things look worse that they really are. If there is money in the budget for these items it doesn't mean the money will be used for replacements but for other items like fancy chairs etc..
