Ward Meeting
I will be having a ward meeting this Saturday at the Fairmount Library at 9:00am. We will be discussing topics which have come before the council in the past month as well as issues discussed here. I will also share with the public the documents I have received in relation to graffiti, Annie Whittenmeyer, pot holes filled, the Pier, 7IS, NEO, an issue with the Mechanical Board, and Lon Bozarth from the RME wants to make a presentation. I hope all can attend. We have both conference rooms this time so there will be plenty of room. I have some ideas to run by everyone as a group and I welcome any input you have. Is it possible for the attendees to be allowed access to the building before 9 A.M.? Especially since we are using the conference room wing and not the main part of the library.

Is the city wide cleanup still scheduled for this saturday [May 20th] at 9:00am? At least that was the tentative volunteer cleanup day. I haven't seen anything in the QCT about it.

Try and lead and not follow the pac. Leadership comes through strength. The lead dog should not wait to see what everyone wants to do. You are elected to lead. Remember we are not a democracy but a republic.

Hamerlink is a lot like oh what's his name (before Lynn in the 5th ward). Afraid to make a move before he talks it over with the masses. Afraid to upset someone, rather than do what's best for the city. I vote for people who will do the research and then make the best decision for the city. I don't what to have to try and keep up with everything going on. That's what the alderman's job is.

So what you are saying is that you would rather have someone think for you and socially mold your lifestyle. You are not responsible enough to take part and have a voice in public matters. You are one of those that let things happen and then piss and moan when it is something you do not like.

We are so lucky to have Shawn as the 2nd ward alderman. Both ex-alderman Donna Bushak and Jumpin George Nicholas were nothing but hot air. People of the 2nd ward love how Shawn listens and gets things done for us. Hopefully, Shawn will consider making a run for mayor next time around.

The United Neighbors City Wide Cleanup was a huge success today. Some of the volunteers for the cleanup would have been at the 2nd ward meeting if they wouldn't have been cleaning up the city. I hope Alderman Hamerlinck can take a few minutes and type out a new thread on the topics and suggestions that were discussed today. Too bad this ward meeting isn't filmed so it can be shown later on the city cable channel. We love hearing what Alderman Hamerlinck has to say.
