Intentions
I began this blog primarily as a means by which to create an open discussion of the topics of interest in Davenport’s recent elections. As the elections have come and gone this blog now takes on a whole new purpose.
With any decision an Alderman may make there are always a variety of perspectives in viewing an issue. This blog thus takes upon the purpose of allowing for the free exchange of ideas and perspectives.
With this blog over the next two years I intend to give you my initial thoughts on each vote that I am faced with. I welcome and encourage your ideas and perspectives whether or not you agree with me. In fact, if you disagree, I welcome you to place comments or send me an email why. In an effort to think outside the box we must always look for opinions and perspectives from which we have not viewed an issue before.
The position of Alderman is one of human service and representation. I cannot assume that I will always have the answers and this is why I welcome your input. The only mistake that can be made is in not communicating.
